Live streamers can now direct their audience to other YouTube channels.
Live streaming is gaining in popularity on the Internet, prompting platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook to expand their offers. As a result, YouTube has introduced a new Live Redirect tool, similar to Twitch Raids.
Live streamers can route their viewers to a video premiere or live stream of their choice using YouTube’s Live Redirect tool.
“With Live Redirect, you can generate excitement for an impending Premiere while also helping your viewers discover new creators (and show them some well-deserved love!” says YouTube.
How to reroute viewers during live streaming
- Start a live stream
2. Select “Customisation” from the Edit button.
3. Select “Add” from the Redirects menu.
4. Select the Live stream or Premier where you want users to be redirected.
5. When your live broadcast concludes, you’ll receive a notification indicating that your viewers will be sent to the specified stream/premier.
To divert viewers from a YouTube Premier, follow these steps:
1. Go to YouTube Studio
2. Go to the ‘Videos’ tab.
3. Click on the ‘Where to redirect viewers’ option.
4. Select the Live stream or Premier where you wish to redirect people by clicking Select.
5. When your Premier ends, your users will be transported to the selected live stream.
Who can use the Live Redirect feature on YouTube?
A creator can use the Live Redirect feature if they match the following criteria:
More than 1,000 subscribers are required of the creator.
On your account, there should be no active Community Guideline strikes.
There is no restriction on the channel’s size.
To lead your audience to another channel’s live stream, YouTube says you’ll need permission from that channel via YouTube Studio.
